it's done! a commission in review

it's done, it's done!

the commission is finally complete. it's a kind of shrug/loose cardigan. i'm pretty darn pleased with it, i must say. and it should sit nicer on its owner's shoulders than on mine. i'll let the photos do most of the talking, but here are some of the details:

base pattern: seraphine by lucy sweetland for brooklyn tweed

yarn: 6 skeins of malabrigo rios in plomo

main details: -the back cabled panel is straight from the pattern. that's the only part of the pattern that i followed, so i'm afraid i can't attest to it beyond that. it's beautiful though, and well-written, if you are interested.
-reverse stockinette sleeves
-3x2 ribbing for the cuffs, upper back panel, and collar band
-tubular bind-off on the cuffs for a squishier, comfier edging
-sleeves seamed along the lower edge after all of the individual pieces were seamed together

the colour in this photo is the truest to the actual yarn.
the winter sun wasn't so cooperative today, actually giving me way too much light (i'm not a sophisticated enough photographer yet to know how to really deal with that), but i think the photos turned out alright. maybe i'll get a chance to take photos of it on its owner at a later date. you can view the facebook album here.
